Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a type of rehabilitation that is concerned with the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of physical dysfunction that inhibits an adult or child’s independence in activities of daily living, work, and play/leisure interests.

Stellar Rehab’s custom OT is used to restore, maintain, develop, or adapt tasks to improve functional independence through various activities, exercise, and physical agent modalities as needed for treatment. OT evaluates and treats the “whole” person, including physical and psychosocial wellness.

OT can assist clients by reducing pain and improving their level of independence in performing activities such as:

Dressing

Grooming/hygiene

Reaching overhead

Utilizing upper extremities for work-related tasks

Fine motor skills (i.e., writing, buttoning, typing)

Sensory modulation and sensory integration
